Apartments - the better option in residences
In this modern era of nuclear families living in
apartments is gaining popularity. People and the
priorities are changing with the changing times,
and owning a house is no longer a universal dream.
The conveniences associated with life in apartments
make people prefer apartments and flats to houses.
The security factor associated with apartments plays
a major role in these preferences. Proper maintenance,
security, uninterrupted supply of water and stand-by
electricity system usually comes with all new apartments.
Besides who wants to single handedly take on the
maintenance of the house when in apartments you
have a central management committee, which takes
on all these. Thus having a central maintenance
means not having to hire an external plumber or
electrician for minor problems. Apartments and flats
offer access to amenities and technologies not available
or affordable in single-family homes. Most of the
requirements in security and maintenance are met
conveniently in apartments.
The community benefits from apartment living as
green spaces could be conserved and preserved and
also there is less demand on public resources. Apartments
bring new dimensions in community living and are
beneficial to the children as well as adults as
there are more causes for interaction in common
spaces. Also the land cost gets divided among all
owners of apartments, which reduces a substantial
financial burden on each owner. Today’s younger
generation is more comfortable with the idea of
living in apartments than at any time in the last
50 years. The rapid increase in the demand for higher
quality residential space in Karalla could be attributable
to the following reasons:
- The substantial rise in the standard
of living of the middle-income groups.
- More than one member earning a living
- Reduction of interest rates in banks
and other financial institutions for home loans
- Long term investments from NRI's
into real estate sectors like residential &
commercial projects in Kerala.
- Accommodation for expatriate employees
of the various companies coming to settle in Thrissur
- Expansion of Indian Corporates, and
MNCs
- The increasing number of educational
centres in and around Thrissur
